Scholarship Description
The overriding criterion for the award of the Scholarship is academic merit (>70%), although other factors such as service to the community, intra/extra-murally, could be taken into account. Applicants can research in any of the following fields: English Language, English Literature, English-in-Education, South African English Drama, South African Journalism in English, Cultural studies focusing on English-related topics in Southern Africa. Financial need is not a criterion for these awards. Initially for one year but renewable depending on satisfactory progress for a further year.
