Capital Markets Cooperative Research Centre PhD Scholarships
Scholarship Description
CMCRC is a partnership of leading Australian universities based in Sydney & is supported by Australian & NSW governments and industry partners. The research focus is security market behavior, market integrity, and the detection of fraud, both within and across markets. There are also programs in the analysis of accounting data and text data relevant to securities markets & in the assessment of the risk of financial failure. These programs involve research in finance, data-mining, and accounting. Exceptional data, programming support, and access to supercomputer facilities are available through the CMCRC. There are opportunities to travel overseas to undertake research with industry partners in London, Washington DC, Zurich, Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney, and Stockholm. Scholarship does not cover tuition fees. Three rounds for application are planned for 2008. 1st round closes on 15 May, 2nd closes on 30 Sep, 3rd closes on 30 Nov.

Availability
This scholarship is offered to 55 people. Open for applications until September 30, 2008.
Payment Information
The value of this scholarship is AUD50000 (maximum per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 years.
Research Information
This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: Accounting, auditing and accountability, Banking, finance and investment or INFORMATION, COMPUTING AND COMMUNICATION SCIENCES.
Eligibility
This scholarship requires you to have achieved Honours 1 (Semester 1), or Honours 1 or equivalent.
