The Melbourne Rome Scholarship

Scholarship Description
This scholarship has closed for 2008. Details for 2009 will be updated later in the year. The scholarship will be awarded to a junior scholar (PhD, MA, postdoc research within 5 years of being awarded their PhD, or Honorary Research Fellow) at Melbourne Uni. The scholarship will support a research project dealing with the art history, archaeology, architectural history, urbanism, or history of designed landscapes of Rome or its region from antiquity to the twentieth century. It is expected that the project will be one for which a period of research in libraries, archives, museums, collections, or sites in Rome or Lazio is a necessity. The scholarship includes travel, board and lodging, and a research grant. The Italian Institute of Culture Melbourne will provide the awardee with an intensive course of Italian language prior to departure. The scholarship will be awarded for a 3 month period.
