Scholarship Description
The CAST Cooperative Research Centre is offering Masters by Research & PhD scholarships to talented scientists and engineers to solve problems affecting Australia's metal manufacturing industries. CAST is a collaboration between leading research bodies and metal companies whose goal is to maximise Australia's competitiveness in the global marketplace. Promising candidates will have a background in either engineering, mathematics, chemistry or physics and will be able to choose from projects with some of Australia's most successful manufacturing companies, investigating issues such as:The casting and solidification of aluminium & magnesium alloys for improved product quality at Nissan Casting and Ford Australia; Alloy development programs with Comalco and Advanced Magnesium Technologies targeting the global extrusion, foundry and die casting markets. Payment Information
The value of this scholarship is AUD30000 (minimum per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 years.

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY, MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES or PHYSICAL SCIENCES.
Eligibility
This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 2a or equivalent. Only citizens of Australia or permanent residents can apply.
