Scholarship Description
The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, The Department of Microbiology & Immunology at the University of Melbourne and the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research will award up to 3 highly prestigious & competitive scholarships to students commencing their PhD or MD degrees in Tumour Immunology at The University of Melbourne next year. These scholarships are part of the Predoctoral Emphasis Pathway in Tumour Immunology, established by the Cancer Research Institute in 1998 to attract a young and budding talent to the field of cancer immunology. Benefits include living allowance, local & international travel allowances and the opportunity to interact with respected tumour immunologists nationally & internationally, from among whom they will choose their mentors for their doctoral research, & learn about the advances and trends in cancer immunology. This scholarship is offered annually to 3 people. Open for applications until October 31, 2008.
Payment Information
The value of this scholarship is AUD25575 (minimum per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses and travel. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 2 years if masters or 3 years if PhD.

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES, Immunology or MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES.
Eligibility
This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent. Only citizens of Australia or New Zealand or permanent residents can apply.
