Finnish Government Scholarships

Scholarship Description

The Finnish Government, through the Centre for International Mobility grants scholarships for young researchers (postgraduates who have completed a Master level degree) to Finnish universities. There are two types of scholarships: individual scholarships, which young researchers apply for themselves and host fellowships, which are applied by the Finnish higher education departments wishing to host researchers and postgraduates. The eligibility conditions, application procedure, deadlines and application forms vary according to the programme. Please note applications must be submitted to the Finnish Embassy no later than mid-January. Refer to scheme website for further information.

Availability

This scholarship is offered annually to 10 people. Open for applications until February 1, 2009.

Payment Information

The value of this scholarship is EUR1200 (maximum per month). This award is to be used for living expenses and fees. This scholarship is paid monthly.

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: LANGUAGE AND CULTURE.

Eligibility

This scholarship is for study in Finland for those who have achieved Masters or equivalent. You must be below the age of 35. Only citizens of Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, China, Cuba, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea - South, Luxembourg, Mexico, Mongolia, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia (Slovak Republic), Spain, Switzerland, Turkey or Ukraine may apply.
