Scholarship Description

The Australian Orchid Foundation (AOF), is a voluntary organisation whose members are dedicated to orchids, or are persons who are deeply interested in these plants, either in a cultural or scientific sense. The work of the AOF is financed by donations from Orchid Societies, Members & generous ?Friends of the Foundation? who see the benefits that must accrue in the many avenues that involve orchids. The AOF provides funds to universities for research into Australian & Australasian native orchids & orchid pest diseases. Applications are accepted from interested students at anytime throughout the year. Applications will be reviewed by a panel of botanists. Preference will be given to research conducted in Australia on Austalian plants. A report will need to be presented before final funds are distributed. Some previous recipients have donated scholarhsip funds back to the AOF upon proceeds from research findings. Please see website for more details.
