Australian Government Eureka Prize for Promoting Understanding of Science

Scholarship Description

The Australian Government Eureka Prize for Promoting Understanding of Science is awarded for efforts and initiatives in science outreach that go beyond the usual or expected scope and activities of an entrant's profession or occupation. The judges will nevertheless consider entries from individuals or groups where the science outreach activity has become an accepted although not primary function of their employment or employer. For example, the growing appreciation in universities of the need to encourage secondary science studies as a means of encouraging university enrolments has meant that university staff are increasingly undertaking science outreach programs as a required add-on function of their work. Please see web site for further details about this prize. This scholarship has closed for 2008. Details for 2009 will be updated later in the year.
