Pyrometallurgy Research Centre

Scholarship Description

PYROSEARCH is seeking researchers interested in the field of molten oxide chemistry with particular focus on extractive metallurgy. Opportunities are available in experimental determination of phase equilibria in complex systems, thermodynamic & physicochemical property modelling relevant to copper smelting & converting, & the recycling of electronic scrap. Several APAI & Centre Postgraduate Research Scholarships are available for PhD studies. Scholarship applicants should have an Honours or Masters degree. Topics include: Phase equilibrium determination, chemical thermodynamics, measurement and modelling of the viscosities of molten oxide systems relevant to copper smelting and converting; Developing a new high temperature process for the recycling of electronic scrap materials. Send applications to Prof Hayes.
