Scholarship Description
The Lung Institute of Western Australia (LIWA) offers PhD Top Up Scholarships to students with outstanding undergraduate results who attract Australian Postgraduate Awards or equivalent scholarships. Students are encouraged to apply for supplementary awards valued at $8500 per annum to top up their income for the duration of their research studies with LIWA. Up to six scholarships are available in the following areas of respiratory research: Molecular Genetics; Inflammation & Immunology; Tissue Repair; Physiotherapy; Infectious Diseases; Air Quality and lung health

Availability
This scholarship is offered annually to an unspecified number of people. Open for applications until November 28, 2008.
Payment Information
The value of this scholarship is AUD8500 (maximum per award). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 years.
Research Information
This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: Biochemistry and cell biology, BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES, Genetics, Immunology or MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES. It is required that your study starts no earlier than January 1, 2009 and no later than June 30, 2009.
Eligibility
This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent, or Honours 2a or equivalent. Only citizens of Australia or permanent residents can apply.
