Scholarship Description

AIMS@JCU, a research collaboration between James Cook University and the Australian Institute of Marine Science will offer up to 5 scholarships for domestic or international PhD students commencing in 2012. Scholarships will be competitive and recipients will undertake high quality research in the field of marine science. Scholarships will include stipends (at the Australian Postgraduate Award level) and $5,000 per annum for project costs or scholarship top-ups. Research areas : Coastal ecology Coral reef research Elasmobranch biology and ecology Marine chemistry Marine climate research Marine engineering & technology Marine Mammal Conservation Marine microbiology Marine molecular sciences Oceanography Tropical aquaculture Statistical Modelling of Marine Biodiversity Stress in Tropical Marine Systems Coastal Processes/Physical processes. This scholarship is offered annually to 5 people. Open for applications until October 31, 2011.

Payment Information

The value of this scholarship is AUD20000 (minimum per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid in Two (2) Payments for the period of 3 years.

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES.

Eligibility

This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent.
