Anthropology (Melanesia) Fieldwork Scheme
Scholarship Description
A scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit to a student currently undertaking research in anthropology at the University of Melbourne. The scholarship will be offered on an annual basis to a maximum of $5000 to cover fares, equipment and other costs of fieldwork. Eligibility is limited to graduate students of anthropology for fieldwork study in the Pacific (Melanesia). The award may only be held once and may be held concurrently with any other scholarship or similar benefit provided the combined total of awards does not exceed an amount previously specified by the Associate Dean (Research). Recommendations for the award will be made annually to the Dean of the Faculty by the Associate Dean (Arts Research). This scholarship has closed for 2008. Details for 2009 will be updated later in the year.

The value of this scholarship is AUD5000 (maximum per award). This award is to be used for travel. This scholarship is paid as a one off for the period of 1 year.

This scholarship is for study in Caroline Islands, Fiji, Gilbert & Ellice Is., Mariana Islands, Marshall Islands, New Caledonia, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands or Vanuatu. You must have studied at or be currently studying at The University of Melbourne.
