Great Barrier Reef Marine Park - Science for Management Awards
Scholarship Description
The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority invites applications from students for the Science for Management Awards. These awards are intended to assist the research projects of students working toward a Doctorate or Masters degree, which make a contribution to the management of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. The authority will therefore consider applications from a variety of disciplines. Studies may involve any aspect of the physical, biological or social, cultural and economic environments of the Reef. Successful applicants will be expected to submit a report to the Authority at the end of the award year. The report should include a section specifically explaining the relevance and application of the results to the management, conservation and sustainable use of the Park and World Heritage Area. Grants are usually in order of between $1000 and $4000. APPLICATIONS CLOSED, NEXT ROUND DETAILS TO BE CONFIRMED LATE-2008.

The value of this scholarship is AUD4000 (maximum per award). This award is to be used for miscellaneous purposes. This scholarship is paid as a one off for the period of 1 year.

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: AGRICULTURAL, VETERINARY AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES, BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES, COMMERCE, MANAGEMENT, TOURISM AND SERVICES or EARTH SCIENCES.
