Scholarship Description
The Australasian Society for the Study of Obesity (ASSO) is a scientific organisation of medical practitioners, dieticians, scientists and other health care professionals interested in obesity research, treatment or public health initiatives directed at the prevention of obesity. The mission of ASSO is to improve the management and prevention of obesity in Australasia through increased awareness and understanding, improved research on obesity issues and the identification of improved management and prevention practices. The scholarship is to support a student to undertake a program of research into nay issue associated with obesity. This is a start-up scholarship intended to provide initial support to a student unable to obtain funding from other sources, which funds the first year of a PhD student undertaking a program of research on any aspect of obesity at any recognised university in Aust or NZ. Payment Information
The value of this scholarship is AUD20000 (total amount). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 1 year.

Eligibility
This scholarship is for study in Australia or New Zealand for those who have achieved Honours 2a or equivalent. Only citizens of Australia or New Zealand or permanent residents can apply.
