PhD Scholarships - CSIRO Livestock Industries

Scholarship Description

CSIRO Livestock Industries regularly offer a number of PhD scholarships at up to $30000pa (taxable). Eligible applicants should be completing or have completed an honours science degree (or equivalent in agricultural or veterinary Sciences or related disciplines). The successful candidates will be chosen on academic merit & will be able to choose a project from a number of specific research areas (for comprehensive list see http://www.csiro.au/listudent). The scope of research ranges from livestock systems research through to molecular biological approaches to livestock problems designed to enhance the research capacity to support the Australian livestock industries. Scholarships will be available in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia. Successful candidates will be required to enrol for a PhD at an appropriate tertiary institution in the host State. Availability

This scholarship is offered annually to 70 people. Open for applications until November 2, 2008.

Payment Information

The value of this scholarship is AUD28000 (maximum per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 years.

Research Information

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: AGRICULTURAL, VETERINARY AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES, SCIENCE - GENERAL or Veterinary sciences.

Eligibility

This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent, or Honours 2a or equivalent. Only citizens of Australia or permanent residents can apply.
