University of Newcastle Postgraduate Research Scholarship Central
Scholarship Description
Applicants must have completed at least four years of undergraduate study. Available to students undertaking a full-time Master's or Doctoral degree by research (in exceptional cases awards may be made to part-time candidates). These scholarships are tenable for two years for a Master's and three years for a PhD. Previous study will be deducted. These awards provide a Research Training Scheme (RTS) exemption, living allowance and thesis allowance.

Availability
This scholarship is offered annually to 30 people. Open for applications until October 31, 2008.
Payment Information
The value of this scholarship is AUD20007 (per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 2 years if masters or 3 years if PhD.
Research Information
This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: ARCHITECTURE, URBAN ENVIRONMENT AND BUILDING, ECONOMICS, EDUCATION, ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY, LAW, JUSTICE AND LAW ENFORCEMENT, MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES, Nursing, SCIENCE - GENERAL, SOCIAL SCIENCES, HUMANITIES AND ARTS - GENERAL or THE ARTS. It is required that your study starts no earlier than February 21, 2009 and no later than July 21, 2009.
Eligibility
This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent. Only citizens of Australia or New Zealand or permanent residents can apply.
