PhD Scholarship Brain Ageing Program
Scholarship Description
These Scholarships are offered by the Brain and Ageing Research Program, UNSW, a high profile research program funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), which is undertaking research the determinants of cognitive disorders in the elderly. The Scholarships may encompass study of the impact of metabolic, inflammatory, cardiovascular or nutritional factors on brain ageing and cognition. The successful doctoral students will be working on data derived from study cohorts of international significance (the Sydney Memory and Ageing Study and the Older Australian Twins Study) and may encompass work with brain magnetic resonance imaging and genetics. A well developed program exists in the Brain and Ageing Program which supports a large number of Doctoral students. Availability
This scholarship is offered once only to 2 people. Open for applications from December 14, 2009 until January 31, 2010.
Payment Information
The value of this scholarship is AUD30000 (maximum per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 2 years.
Research Information
This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: Cognitive science, MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES, Neurosciences, Psychology or SCIENCE - GENERAL. It is required that your study starts no earlier than March 1, 2010 and no later than March 31, 2010.
Eligibility
This scholarship requires you to have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent.
