Complex Systems in Immunology Topup
Scholarship Description
The Complex Systems in Biology research group at UNSW, Sydney, is seeking a PhD student with a strong undergraduate record to commence a PhD in computational biology / bioinformatics. A student with a background in bioinformatics, computing science, mathematics, statistics, physics, biology, or other scientific field, are sought to work on projects aimed at understanding immune responses to infectious diseases. No prior experience in biology is required – just a strong quantitative background and a willingness to learn new ideas. The Complex Systems in Biology group utilises theoretical, mathematical, statistical, computer modelling and bioinformatics approaches to better our understanding of biological processes that occur at the molecular, cellular, and population level. Specific research interests include understanding the three major infectious diseases of our time - HIV, malaria, and tuberculosis.
