Advanced Search
Scholarship Type: This field allows you to specify the type of funding you are most interested in (you may choose more than one). Your selection(s) should represent the MAIN PURPOSE or reason that you are seeking funding. For instance, you should select Travel if your main purpose is to gain experience away from your enrolling institution. Although some awards may pay a living allowance whilst you are away, Travel remains the main purpose. Conversely if you would like a scholarship to gain a whole qualification from an overseas university, you should enquire about Living Allowance and Fees scholarships, even though some may contain a 'travel' component intended to assist you with your relocation expenses etc.

The research field information is contained in a PopUp window that appears when you click on the 'Add' button. The list contains the main areas of research available at tertiary institutions. If you click on the icon to the left of any research area, a sub-list will appear which breaks the research field down into more specific areas. Select an area by clicking on the name. Applications Close: This field enables you to specify the latest date by which you would like to have secured your funding. This field is useful when students need to obtain their funding within a certain time limit, for instance, a student commencing study in January 2003, can use this field to eliminate from the search results all those scholarships which are not available until after this date.
Only show what's new: If you are a regular user of JASON, this field allows you to exclude from your search scholarships that were already on the database at the time of your last search. For instance, if you performed a thorough search 30 days ago, you can elect to include in your search results only those scholarships added to the database in the last month. This function, as well as the JASON Student Profile service, is intended to minimise duplication of effort for the searcher.
